Vietnam: Intra Company Transfer Visa Regulations

Latest Updates on Vietnam’s Intra Company Transfer visa regulations

The Ho Chi Minh City Labour Department has allowed a new category of Intra Company Transfer known as the “Manager, Executive Director, Expert and Technical Worker”. This type of visa only requires applicants to have 12 months’ work experience with the parent company overseas.

The documentary requirements will include:

  • An assignment letter from the Overseas Investor Entity (the business entity which holds a business license in Vietnam). The letter needs to include the experience of the employee at the company and duration of stay in Vietnam
  • A working testimonial document which comes from a linked business entity to the investor in Vietnam. The information must match the assignment letter information

Please note: a local employment contract is NOT needed for this type of visa

This new visa is only applicable for applications to Ho Chi Minh and whether this visa type will be rolled out to other provinces in Vietnam is not known. The historical Intra Company Transfer visa is still in effect.
