Hawaii

On 15 March 2017, a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) with nationwide effect was issued by a federal judge in Hawaii., The TRO was issued to block key parts of the USA, Trump Administration’s second Executive Order on travel and visa issuance which was due to come into effect 16 March 2017.

The TRO temporarily suspends section 2 and 6 of the Executive Order. Section 2 suspends entry of nationals of the following 6 countries; Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. Section 6 suspends refugees travelling into United States and decisions on applications for refugee status for 120 days.

Maryland and Washington

On 16 March, a Federal judge in Maryland also issued a nationwide injunction to suspend section 2 of the Executive order.

There is also an expected ruling from a federal judge in the Washington State.
