United States: United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) releases new form I-9

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) releases new form I-9

USCIS have introduced the new form I-9 along with instructions. Employers must incorporate this new Form into their on-boarding process by 22 January 2017.

The new Form I-9 can be used immediately but the previous Form I-9 (dated 3/8/2013 N) can also still be used to verify the employment authorisation of new hires and to re-verify expiring employment authorisation until 21 January 2017.

USCIS does not require any changes to be made to the Form I-9 records of an employer’s existing
employees.
