UK: Moving towards digitalisation for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI)

UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) will be introducing significant changes to it’s processing operations over the next six months by moving toward digitalisation. This should improve efficiencies, provide faster turnaround times and consistency of service.

Electronic compliance audits of UK sponsors are being piloted. All sponsors should be aware this will effectively provide UKVI with greater means to audit and monitor sponsor compliance, with license reporting and record keeping requirements on a more regular basis and will lead to greater levels of scrutiny. Failure to carry out your sponsor duties may result in civil penalty and/or revocation of the sponsor licence.

We advise to ensure the Authorising Officer and the Key Contact details are up-to-date on the Sponsor Management System. Failure to do so may also trigger compliance action.
