The Fair Consideration Framework rules will expand in an effort to promote the hiring of Singaporean nationals
From 1st July 2018, employers that have ten or more employees and offer jobs with a fixed salary below 15’000 Singapore Dollars will have to advertise new jobs for 14 days on the National Job Board.
The main impact of these changes is work permit processing times will be increased (due to the 14 day labour market test) and more Singaporean nationals will be considered for job roles.
This is an effort by the Singapore Ministry of Manpower to strengthen the resident workforce.
