A new Electronic Travel Authority is due to be introduced in 2019
New Zealand has plans to introduce an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) forcertain travellers in 2019. An exact date is not confirmed. The ETA system has been created to provide security benefits and also shorten the pre-screening process.

Citizens of Australia and New Zealand will be allowed to travel without an Electronic Travel Authority.
The Electronic Travel Authority will impact those foreign nationals on work permits directly. Foreign nationals who require an ETA will need to complete a short online form and pay a small processing fee. The form will ask for basic information like: Name, date of birth, personal details (contact details), passport details, declare any criminal convictions etc
