New Zealand: Changes regarding interim visas

Interim visas for New Zealand are granted to individuals who have applied for a further temporary visa, but who run out of visa validity while their substantive application is decided. Previously interim visas were valid until a decision is made on the outstanding application or six months after the interim visa was granted.

Under new rules “interim visas” will be valid for 21 days after an entry visa is declined or withdrawn. This means that applicants must either plan their departure or await their application decision.
