Immigration department changes in Mexico will produce delays in processing time
There has been staffing changes at the National Migration institute (Mexico’s immigration agency), which has led to processing delays across the country.
The reasons for these changes are:
- A new Commissioner was employed to replace the former National Migration institute head
- Various immigration officials resigned
- The Mexico City office staff are due to be replaced
Applicants can expect delays of around four to six weeks and various processing instabilities in the coming months.
