Germany: Government issues a proposal to attract more non-EU high skilled labour

The German Government has issued a proposal to revise the current immigration system and attract highly skilled professionals from outside of the EU.

The proposal aims to:

  • Relax resident labour market testing requirements
  • Ease process for recognising foreign qualifications
  • Increase the availability for German language development
  • Ease the entire immigration process

The changes are unlikely to be introduced by until late 2019 at the earliest.
