China: New requirements for Individual Income Tax Payment lists

In Shanghai the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) now requires an Individual Income Tax (IIT) payment showing the applicants payments over the last 12 months. This has come into effect on 9th July 2018 and will affect company employees applying for Chinese Work Permits under Category A.

Previously, an IIT certificate was required, however now an IIT payment list (which shows the name of the employer and the applicants IIT payments over the last 12 months) is required. The IIT payment list must bear the company seal and can be obtained online by those who are registered for the tax account.
