Updates to the de-registration process for foreign national workers
Effective January 2018 the Registro Nacional de las Personas (National Registry of Individuals) announced that identification card (DNI Card) cancellations are no longer being enforced.
Previously a foreign national worker was required to send their original identification card to the National Registry of Individuals to complete the cancellation process. This process was completed once a foreign national worker had left Argentina. Now the physical identification card is not required for any residence cancellations.
This new process is not yet fully integrated in Argentine immigration regulations and will take around three to six months to be fully implemented.
