The Netherlands: Cross-Border workers update

Cross-Border workers are no longer limited to remain in the Netherlands for 90 out of 180 days.

The Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) have implemented a new rule where Cross-Border workers are no longer limited to stay in the Netherlands for 90 out of 180 days. The term Cross-Border Workers applies to those foreign national workers:

  • Who reside in another EU member state (Germany or Austria)
  • Who work in the Netherlands with a Work Permit
  • Who often return to their country of residence once a week
