Saudi Arabia: Registered rental agreement with the Ejar

From 1st September 2018, The Saudi Ministry of Labour and Social Development and Ministry of Housing announced that foreign expatriates will be required to have a registered rental agreement with the “Ejar”. The Ejar is an online rental services network which aims to protect the rights of all contracted parties and settle any disputes.

Previously, registered rental agreements were not required to be registered with Ejar for foreign expatriates who applied for new or renewed work permits.
