Nigeria: Pre-Approval Application by Email

Latest on Nigeria’s Pre-Approval Application Now Available for Temporary Work Permit

With Immediate effect, the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has introduced the option to apply for the pre-approval for a Temporary Work Permit (TWP) by email. NIS targets to approve the TWP in two working days from receipt of application.
The temporary work permit is issued up to 90 days for short term for specialised work like after-sales installation of machinery, feasibility studies, repairs of machinery or equipment, auditing and accounts or research work.

Applications should include a formal request state name, nationality and passport number of applicant, the purpose and duration of the visit, the mission where the visa is to be issued and expecting responsibility for the applicant. The application should be supported by a copy of the passport with certain required company documents.

The application by the Nigerian company sponsoring the applicant for pre-approval for a Temporary Work should be sent to oa@nigeriaimmigration.gov.ng.

Approval will then be forwarded to the relevant Nigerian embassy, high commission, consulate or visa application centre (VAC) where the applicant is resident.

The applicant can then submit the completed visa application form with proof of payment of the visa fee, passport and two passport size photos to the Nigerian mission in person or VAC by post.
