The Ministry of Justice will increase company site inspections this year in the Netherlands to ensure immigration compliance
Companies in the Netherlands who are recognised as work permit sponsors should prepare for an inspection visit from the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND). The aim of the inspection is to ascertain if the sponsors are complying with current immigration compliance.
Each sponsoring company will be judged on the below compliance criteria:
- Disclosure: Employers are obligated to inform the IND of any changes to the company structure, address, contacts persons etc. The company must also inform the IND of any work permit cancellations or changes to salary
- Administration: For each individual foreign national on a work permit, the employer must retain copies of documents; passport, work permit approval , payslips and residence permits
- Employment: The employer will be judged on their recruitment strategies
Companies that do not meet their sponsorship compliance observations will be subject to financial penalties and in some cases the companies can have their sponsorship revoked.
