The National Institute of Migrations (INM) in Mexico has recently increased the amount of immigration verification visits. The aim of the INM verification visits is to verify the presence, trading and operation of a company and prove that they hire home and foreign nationals legally.
There are contributing circumstances that may contribute to a company receiving a verification visit from the INM:
- The company begin immigration processes on behalf of foreign workers (for example, a new work visa or a renewal of an existing work visa)
- Obtaining or updating the company’s Employers Registration Certificate
- If the company has not had an INM visit for over twelve months
The immigration authorities have frequently been denied entry into corporate buildings and as a result of not being able to carry out the verification the INM can suspend or deny any immigration which is sponsored by the company.
