The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation (DBEI) is now requesting all Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP) holders to apply for their Stamp 4 renewals four months in advance of their expiry date.
What is the Stamp 4?
Stamp 4 is the indication of permission to stay in Ireland for a specified period. For example, it allows a two year Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP) holder to reside in Ireland for a further two years and work without a work permit.
How to qualify for the Stamp 4?
To qualify for the Stamp 4 the applicant must have been working in Ireland for 20 months of the 24 awarded on the CSEP.
The applicants for the Stamp 4 application must be the same as the CSEP application. If any details have changed, a new CSEP permit is required. If any details have changed prior to a Stamp 4 application, the application may be refused outright. For example, if there has been a salary increase the authorities will require an explanation from the applicant as they may deem this increase as an entirely new role.
