Latest on adjustment of working hours for foreign students
From 1 September 2016, students studying in Ireland who are non-European Economic Area nationals will be subject to reduced working hours during some months of the year.
Updated working hours for foreign students are as follows:
- Students can work a maximum 40 hours per week in June, July, August, September, and 15 September until 15 January.
- Students can work a maximum of 20 hours per week in October, November and 16 January until 31 May.
- Non EEA students that have graduated from an Irish university, have sought to extend their existing immigration permission under the Third Level Graduate Scheme and are in possession of a Stamp 1G are permitted to work full time.
- Non EEA students that have completed their course and applied under the Third Level Graduate Scheme prior to 1 February 2016 will be in receipt of a Stamp 2 that permits full time work.
