Latest On Foreign Nationals Exempted From Aadhaar Card Requirement

The Indian Ministry of Finance have issued a notification exempting foreign nationals and other certain tax payers from the requirement to acquire an Aadhaar card in order to pay taxes

With effect from 1 July 2017, as part of the Finance Act 2017 it is mandatory it is mandatory to quote the 12 digit unique identification number, to file income tax returns or to apply for renewal for Permanent Account Number (PAN). Foreigner nationals are exempt from this requirement, but will still require a PAN to submit their income tax returns.
