France: The Immigration Authorities introduce changes to immigration framework

The French Immigration Authorities have introduced the following changes which will take effect at the beginning of 2019.

Intra-Company Transfers: Once an assignment has been completed, and the employee has left France, they must remain outside of the EU (not only France) for a 6-month cooling off period before they can apply for another Intra-Company Transfer work permit

Residency Permit: A new residency permit category has been created for foreign migrants to remain in France for 12 months for seeking employment or founding a company.

Student Mobility: A “Student Mobility Program” residence permit has been created and will be valid for 12-24 months depending on the circumstances of the individual. This residency permit is aimed to encourage the mobility of students in and around the European Union.
