Dubai: Part time student work permits launch

Launch of Part Time Student Work Permits

Students who are enrolled on a full time undergraduate, graduate, or post graduate program with an academic institution within the DCCA (including Knowledge Village) are now permitted to work part time for other companies who are in operation inside the Freezone.

Students must be at least 18 years old, sponsored by an academic institution where at one year of full time study has been undertaken, and maintain an approved Cumulative Grade Point Average that has been stipulated by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KDHA) to meet the eligibility requirement for the work permit.

Written consent from the student’s parent along with valid health insurance policy may also be required in addition to meeting the above.

Application for the work permit must be submitted by the academic institution that the student attends. Once approval of the application has been received, the prospective employer must apply for the Student ID card through an online immigration portal
