Australia: The Free Trade Agreement and Labour Market Testing

Australia is the sixth signatory of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP-11). The agreement is due to take effect on 30th December 2018 and includes Canada, Mexico, Japan, New Zealand and Singapore.

The TPP-11 is aimed to ease the process for Australian businesses to sponsor skilled workers from the other countries that have signed the TPP-11. Under this agreement the requirements for labour market testing is not required.
