Australia: Skilling Australians Fund Bill has been passed

The Australian Senate has passed the Skilling Australians Fund Legislation. This new fund will replace the current Training Benchmarks. The current training benchmarks require a sponsor for a 482 or ENS (Subclass 186) and RSMS (Subclass 187) visa application to show that they have spent 1% of their payroll over the previous three years on training local Australian staff.

The new fund aims to support the development of skills of Australian nationals through education and further skills training.
